Nació el 2 de septiembre de 1966 en Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, en México. Hija de madre española y padre libanés, Hayek creció en una familia acomodada y católica. Estudió en un colegio religioso de Louisiana cuando tenía 12 años, y durante su adolescencia vivió con una tía en Houston, Texas. Después de estudiar por un periodo breve en una universidad de la Ciudad de México, abandonó la escuela para ser actriz, y más tarde se convirtió en una estrella de telenovelas en México.
En 1991, Hayek se mudó a Los Angeles, decidida a perfeccionar su inglés y ser una actriz de Hollywood. Después de hacer algunos papeles secundarios, en 1995 obtuvo un rol en Desperado, al lado de Antonio Banderas. El éxito de esta película le brindó la posibilidad de actuar en películas de mediana talla, como la cinta de suspenso The Faculty y Wild Wild West en 1999 y Fools Rush In en 1997. Posteriormente, Hayek fue parte de películas independientes de menor presupuesto y fundó su propia compañía productora, Ventanarosa.
La actitud cada vez más intelectual y apasionada de Hayek con respecto al cine, culminó en el papel de sus sueños: Frida, película en la que además de actuar fungió como productora en 2002. La cinta obtuvo seis nominaciones al Oscar, entre las cuales estaba la de Mejor Actriz para Hayek, quien se convirtió en la primera mujer latinoamericana en ser nominada dentro de esa categoría.
En marzo de 2007, la portavoz de Salma confirmó que la actriz estaba comprometida para casarse con Henri, el hijo del multimillonario Francois Pinault, y que la pareja está esperando un bebé. Éste será el primer hijo de Hayek, y el tercero de Henri. Anteriormente, Salma Hayek había salido con varios actores, entre ellos Edward Norton, Edward Atterton y Richard Crenna, Jr.

Thacker told CNBC-TV18, "In Hero Honda if you look at the price movement for the last one year compared to the price movement for the last two months, I think it has got into some kind of a corrective move. We had a very-very strong up move in the stock price, which lasted about 9-10 months and now we are getting into some kind of a corrective mode.
He further added, "We had two types of target on the downside first which was Rs 1800, which was the 200 day moving average, which the stock price met couple of days back. The second one being Rs 1750-1735 that is the high end of consolidation, which the stock price went through 4-5 months back. So downsides are limited but looking at the indicator setup and technical setup overall the upsides are limited. So we expect a broader consolidation to take place; Rs 1950-2000 on the upside would be a good cap and a good exit point while Rs 1800-1750 would be a good buying range.
